My research paid off -- this is great!
By Portia
My chrome wheels have begun to deteriorate: there's pitting/corrosion where the tire bead is, a common problem (I only recently learned) for those of us who live in places where roads must be heavily salted in the wintertime. So, the tires lose air annoyingly quickly. Because I'm not yet ready to purchase a new car & didn't want to spend $600+ on a new set of alloy wheels for my aging vehicle, a 12-volt compressor pump seemed like a good solution.
Thanks to all the reviews -- good and bad -- found here on Amazon for a number of 12-v compressors, I decided to purchase this one. And I'm glad I did. It's speedy and plenty powerful for my needs; quieter, with less vibration, than what I was expecting. Love the compact size, a built-in gauge that's larger than some, and the hard-sided carrying case. If you're a newbie to the routine of inflating your own tires, don't be intimidated: this compressor is a breeze to use, you can easily tell when the valve connector locks onto your tire's valve stem, and there's no discernible loss of air when you're disconnecting the compressor from the tire. These features -- along with seemingly well-built and assembled components, plus a very reasonable price -- make for a winning combination.
P.S. Note that this compressor does not include a built-in light. That didn't matter to me, but it might to you. And some people may prefer a more precise gauge, so take a look at the photo of the gauge that's included in the images at the top of the listing.

Not very impressed
By Y. Ho
I purchased this unit based on some good review from Amazon. I particular like the screw-on tube connector that is better than the usual Clip-on type. I had a Clip-on connector on my old air pump where the connector became bad and the sealing rubber became rotten after years. For this pump, the good thing is that the screw-on connector won't lose much air when you try to disconnect it. It is easy to screw it on the valve and it won't leak air.
However, this unit seems to have a hard time inflating the tires after it was passing 30PSI (under 18F cold weather), for which it took long time The spiral-shape air hose is so hard to extend it which makes it very hard to reach the valve on the tire. The plastic cover on the gauge is loose. I hope that it won't fall off ....
By the way, carrying hard case is nice thing to have.

Small Compressor but Big Power!
By Cynthia Teer
I bought this after my bicycle electric air pump died. So I tried this one and it does more than I realized. For instance, one of my car tires was losing air. I called for service and the mechanic forgot to check his compressor -- he had no air. I showed him this 12 volt electric tire air pump w/gauge and he was so impressed, he said he wanted to buy one for himself. Maybe now he'll check before coming out to fix a tire, or maybe he bought one of these just in case he ran out of air. I bumped into him the other day and, sure enough, he got one for himself. I would not go anywhere without this item in my trunk.
